“What the world needs now, is you … with a Quiet Mind!” Mike Schwarzer
Read, as best as you can, with an empty mind. There is nothing to do, but there is something to see! Explore and find out for yourself what I am about to share!
If you have been following any of my writings, you may have noticed that I often make mention of showing up with a quiet mind. Particularly in a world that is drowning in the noise of busy minds trying to make sense of the complex and ambiguous nature of our times.
Why would that be important?
Firstly, the world is in a bit of a pickle right now, and it may need you with all your might to make the place, not just a better one, but one that continues to be inhabitable for generations to come.
“Busy minds can prevent us from seeing the forest from the trees!”
Secondly, busy minds often get in the way, do they not? Especially when they get overloaded, stretched beyond the scope and familiarity of how we think the world works or simply misled by the misconception that our thinking is a result of our circumstances.
They can …
- prevent us from seeing the forest for the trees
- lower our spirits, our energy and aliveness
- mess around with our ability to inspire and enthuse others
- narrow the bandwidth of our perception and sense making
- cloud our judgement and quality of decision making
- block our view from seeing possibilities and opportunities
- stifle our creative and innovative juices
- focus our attention on what cannot be done rather that what can be done
- make us question and doubt ourselves and our abilities
A busy mind, without a healthy level of perspective, can make life appear as a roller coaster, with various levels, grades and speeds of ups and downs going around and around. Now, unless you are daredevil who loves the adrenaline rush, probably not the preferred option of travelling through life!
Did I mention a healthy level of perspective …?
Now consider this, imagine a large raft gently and quietly floating along with ease and in harmony with the current of the river. On top of the raft sits a roller coaster, as it would.
Although life at times appears to be a roller coaster, you know that it is only an illusion. That how you are experiencing your ride, even though appearing as real, is a product of the wickedness and creative ability of your intellectual mind.
It makes things up and then says … I didn’t do it! 😊
Luckily, you are aware that any roller coaster of life is built on made up stories and that underneath it all, we are supported by a raft of deeper strength, harmony and wisdom, our deeper mind.
One that operates outside the realms of intellectual meaning making and that is unconcerned with the content of our thinking.
As you deepen your understanding of this underlying wisdom and energy, the more you see through the illusions, the less you live in the experience of them. And the more you draw on the deeper intelligence of this wisdom.
“The universe is full of wonderful answers patiently waiting for us” Dee Hock, Founder and first CEO of VISA
When you walk through life with a quiet mind, the universe and its wisdom make themselves visible to you through insights and realisations that emerge. As the quote above states, the universe is full of wonderful answers, patiently waiting for us. All you need to do is look in the right direction and pay attention!
Grounded in this understanding, you effortlessly …
- see the forest for the trees
- show up in high spirits, full of energy and aliveness
- inspire and enthuse others with that aliveness
- widen the bandwidth of your perception and sense making
- make sound judgements and wise decision
- see possibilities and opportunities
- access your creative and innovative juices
- focus your attention on what can be done
- have trust in yourself and your abilities
- see and draw out the genius in others
The choice is yours, from which mind will you lead out and pave the way, the busy or the quiet mind?
All it takes is to … think less, listen deeper, and watch the impact!
