“They’re all geniuses, they just don’t know it yet!” Quote from teacher mentioned in a Malcolm Gladwell book

Read, as best as you can, with an empty mind. There is nothing to do, but there is something to see! Explore and find out for yourself what I am about to share!

I remember reading, many years ago, in one of Malcom Gladwell’s books about the story of an American teacher who was teaching at an international school in Asia.

Most of the teacher’s young students accelerated in their studies, such as learning multiple languages over a short period of time.

When asked about her secret to guiding the students’ success she said … “They’re all geniuses, they just don’t know it yet!”.

That quote stuck with me ever since and had a profound impact on my work helping people to learn and see beyond what they think is currently possible!

Something happens when we look behind the words in this quote and pay attention to where they are pointing.

We begin to see beyond the realms of any preconceptions we may hold about how we think the world works and the people that we engage with.

Preconceptions that flavour how we show up and how we perceive and treat others.

“We don’t see the world as it is, we see the world as we are!” Anais Nin

When we step into a space where we realise that the way we perceive the world is no more than a projection, made up by the creative and wicked nature of our intellectual mind, we can see it for what it is.

A map of reality, not the absolute truth of reality.

Maps are useful tools when we apply them mindfully. They help us to make sense of the world, grasp ideas and concepts, articulate those ideas and concepts and bring them to life.

“It’s from a wise mind we see and unleash the genius in each other!” Mike Schwarzer

When we show up from this realisation, we show up with a different energy and from beyond intellectual understanding.

An energy that connects people at deeper levels of consciousness and from a level of awareness where we see the genius in others beyond intellectual preconceptions.

Where we don’t see labels but human souls that are connected through the creative intelligence and energy behind life.

This is the space from which we see and unleash the genius in each other!

What if … we treated one another as if we were geniuses, we just didn’t know it yet!?

I trust that what you have read has intrigued you and aroused your curiosity!
