A Message from Mike

Before you read further – a few words, in person.

Elevating the quality of thinking in leaders –
and the systems they influence.

✦ ✦ ✦

"I observed Mike conduct a conversation with a client, it was quite brilliant. In a relaxed and personable manner he was able to shift his client's entire attitude and approach to a problem, almost without the client being aware of what was happening. There was no technique used. It was simply a conversation. And the result was remarkable. "

When is the last time you had the space to truly think
about the decisions that matter most?

Not the urgent ones. Not the visible ones.
The ones that quietly shape everything.

The Problem No One Names

The higher you have risen,

the less honest the picture you are being shown.

Which means you are often making decisions...

on a picture that isn't  fully true.

At your level, the risk is not confusion. It's confidence in a picture that is incomplete.

But the picture you're working from is already filtered. It has been shaped – by pressure, context, by what gets said and what doesn't.

Not deliberate – just structurally.

And over time, you get very good at making decisions that work... while something underneath them remains slightly off.

Not enough to stop you. But enough to create friction downstream.

Because small distortions at this level don't stay small – they compound.

And if that question earlier landed at all, it is probably not about time or space... but about what has been shaping how your thinking forms – and whether the picture you're working from is as accurate as it feels in the moments that matter.

The question isn't whether this applies to you.

It's whether you are ready to look.

The Invitation

You don't need better thinking.
You need a more accurate picture to think from.

Most leaders respond by thinking harder. More analysis, more perspectives, more effort to get it right.

But if the picture is already incomplete, more thinking doesn't correct it – it reinforces it.

What's missing is not intelligence. It's a space where the signal can settle... before you act on it.

This is not a coaching program. It is a thinking partnership – a place where you can step out of the filtered, high stakes environment you normally operate in, and see what is actually there, without anything shaping it first.

From there, decisions tend to become simpler – not because the world is less complex but because you are no longer working against distortion.

Who This Is For

You can feel when something isn't fully true

even when everything looks right on the surface.

From the outside, your leadership holds. Decisions get made, outcomes are delivered, and you are trusted to navigate complexity.

But internally, there are moments where something doesn't sit cleanly. Not confusion – more like a subtle misalignment between what's happening and how it's being seen.

You can work through it. You usually do. But the cost is higher than it needs to be.

It tends to show up in a particular kind of leader.

Intellectually Restless

You are drawn to ideas at the edges – consciousness, meaning, the nature of what drives human beings. You read widely, think deeply, and rarely meet someone who can truly keep up.

Spiritually Curious, Not Dogmatic

You sense there is a higher dimension to how you operate and how you lead – and you want a partner who understands that territory without needing to name it in conventional terms.

Accomplished, Yet Quietly Unsatisfied

By most measures you have succeeded. The hunger that remains is not for more achievement – it is for depth, resonance, and a life that reflects who you are becoming, not only who you have been.

Done With Convincing

You do not need to be persuaded. You already have an instinct for whether something is right for you. If this page is speaking to you, that instinct is already active.

to my environment with much greater clarity, focus and flexibility."

What This Actually Is

This is not about thinking differently.
It's about seeing more clearly what is already here.

Most leadership support focuses on improving what you do – better strategies, better communication, better execution.

This is different.

This is a 1:1 thinking partnership, shaped entirely around the decisions and complexity you are currently living inside. Not abstract. Not theoretical. Not structured around models or frameworks.

We work with what is actually happening – in real time, in real situations, in the middle of leadership as it is being experienced.

The focus is not to add more thinking. It is to reduce distortion in how thinking forms, so what is already present can be seen more directly, without being shaped prematurely.

Most leaders find that what felt complex begins to simplify – not because anything external changes immediately. But because they are no longer working from a filtered or overloaded read of the situation.

Conversations are unhurried, direct, and deeply attentive to what is actually going on beneath the surface of decisions.

There is no fixed program or predefined pathway. We meet when it matters, we work with what is alive, and the direction emerges from the work itself.

Over time, this tends to shift something more fundamental than strategy or behaviour: how decisions are formed in the first place.

"Your ability to ask questions and unlock potential is priceless. You have taken me to new dimensions in my thinking, allowing me to come up with new solutions to challenges I didn't see before. Through your approach, my team increased its use of time by 25 percent and doubled the number of projects it successfully completes each month."

Adam Vonthehtoff, former Chief Operations Officer, Adelaide Oval SMA,  Adelaide, South Australia

What people feel in the work

The conversations we have are unlike most you will have had in a professional context. There is a quality of presence, of genuine curiosity, and of going to places that most people – even brilliant people – rarely visit together.

It is the kind of exchange you might have over an especially good coffee with someone who is both deeply interested in you and deeply unimpressed by performance. Where something real is possible.

"Mike has the ability to create a space where we can connect deeper as a workplace community and draw on our collective intelligence – a space that allows us to step outside our busy minds, see issues with fresh eyes, and find clarity. Our team culture is stronger for it."

Danny Harmer, Training Operations Manager, Access Training Centre, South Australia

✦ ✦ ✦

"Mike exposed me to a different way of thinking, stepping back and viewing situations from an 'up above' perspective. What stayed with me most is learning to challenge my own frames of reference and intentionally choose my attitude before I act. Taking a moment to get into the right frame of mind is something I now deliberately do every single day."

Sarah Gerrard, Branch Manager, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Adelaide South Australia

Source Over Strategy: A Question of How Life Works

Most leaders are asking the right question in the wrong direction.

In this reflection we explore what shifts when you stop managing complexity and begin understanding its source – and why leadership becomes more effortless, more alive, and more genuinely yours, when you find your way to the centre of the storm.

Watch it with nothing on your mind.

And see where it lands.

"Mike's coaching gave me a greater capacity to make better decisions, maintain my composure under pressure, and engage with my management group more constructively. The friction that used to come with the role simply isn't there anymore."

Simon Bryant, former Executive Chef, Hilton Adelaide, Adelaide SA,
Celebrity Chef on the ABC’s “The Cook and the Chef”

Mike Schwarzer is the Author of VANTAGE POINT: cutting through the bullsh*t of a complex world – and the creator of VANTAGE POINT Conversations, a thinking partnership for senior leaders navigating the most complex moment in human history.

In a world of constant signal overload, Mike works with leaders who are carrying the weight of it all. Not through frameworks, methodologies or advice – but through a quality of conversation that shifts something at a deeper level.

Leaders walk in holding everything together. They walk out seeing things they couldn't see before.

With thirty years exploring the cognitive, behavioural, and deeper dimensions of human performance, Mike brings a rare combination of rigour, wisdom and presence to the leaders he works with.

His work is grounded in a simple but often overlooked insight – clear thinking is not something you force. It emerges when distortion drops away.

In the quiet. In the space between thoughts. In a conversation that doesn't hand you answers – but changes how you see.

That shift changes everything. Not just how leaders lead. But how they decide, relate, and live.
